Currie Patterson, M.D. is a board certified dermatologist who grew up in Georgia and Louisiana. Dr. Patterson completed her undergraduate education at Emory University, where she graduated Magna cum laude in May 1999. She then attended The Ohio State University College of Medicine where she completed her medical and dermatological training in June 2005. Dr. Custer was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, a medical honor society, during her medical training at the University. She completed her dermatology residency at The Ohio State University as well, where she held the title of Chief Resident from January2008-April 2009. She performed her internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Traci Long, Certified Physician Assistant, joined the Current Dermatology provider staff in late 2012. She grew up in Kentucky and North Carolina, and graduated from Campbell University with a BS in Biology and Chemistry. She is a also a graduate of George Washington University (PA, MSHS) . During her clinical training she worked at Children's National Medical Center, George Washington University Hospital, and several other hospitals in the greater DC/Baltimore area, and is now delighted to apply her medical skills and eye for detail to the practice of dermatology. Traci has proudly served as a stay at home mom and a public high school teacher, and is now enjoying her new career as a Physician Assistant. She is married to Gary and they have three kids, one dog, and a shared love of traveling.
Rebecca Manring, DNP, NP-C, is a board certified nurse practitioner from Jackson County and joined Current Dermatology in August 2016. Along with her nurse training from Southwestern Community College and Western Carolina University, she earned the master’s and doctoral degrees in nursing from The University of South Alabama. Rebecca was further trained in dermatology by Dr. Custer and sees patients of all age ranges and skin conditions. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, the North Carolina Nurses Association, the Dermatology Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Rebecca and her husband, Blake, live in Cullowhee with their four-legged children. They enjoy spending time with friends and family, trying new restaurants, traveling, and exploring the outdoors. Rebecca also has a bachelor’s degree in music education, plays clarinet in the local “Mountain Winds” Community Band, and is a classically trained pianist.
