As stated by the National Cancer Institute, non-melanoma skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States. In 2009, over one million new cases are expected. As part of our desire to fully treat the dermatology patient, we perform full body skin exams looking for melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers. Evaluation and treatment for skin cancer can involve topical chemotherapy regimens, use of liquid nitrogen or cryosurgery, biopsy of suspicious skin lesions, and surgical treatment of diagnosed skin cancers. We feel that patients with a history of significant sun exposure should incorporate routine skin exams into their comprehensive medical care.
Our surgical services include excision of atypical moles and surgical treatment of skin cancers.
